My first troll. He was created on a whim and as a challenge from a friend. As with so many of my creations, he was a joy to bring to “life”. I swear he talked to me while making his clay face, and as we hunted for his personality in all my art room’s lost-and-found bins and boxes.

The illustrations by Tim Read are wonderful and bring my characters to life, telling an ageless story of Izzy’s trials and triumphs of moving into a new neighborhood. I am so happy to have accomplished something I’ve always wanted to do by telling a story every child (and adult) can learn from and enjoy.

I’ve been creating some new jewelry, finding my way around charcoal and pastels, and continuing with clay and masks. I wasn’t able to host my annual Florida Art Open House this year, but I enjoyed everyone who stopped in to browse and shop during the season. Here is one of my favorite pastels, using torn paper and scraps to appear as aged rust.
